Natural Skin Care Recipes

Natural skin care recipes can be created from ingredients we already have at home in our kitchens. Why not get as natural and 'naked' with skin care as possible and use fresh, food grade ingredients?

herbs for holistic skin care recipes

There are loads of natural recipes for holistic skin care, from traditional home remedies to more modern ideas. Creating custom-made skin care for your skin's own personal needs can be great fun, as well as feeling wonderful and being affordable too!

And if you like the idea of home-made skin care, you might be tempted to make your own natural soap too - tips on how to make soap and more about handmade soap can be found on our Natural Soap page.

If we look around our kitchen and in the garden, we will find an abundance of great skin food.

Even if you only have the basics, and an overgrown garden or even a window box, you still have lots of great ingredients. Oats, for instance, are a staple in most kitchens - and are great as a face scrub or used in an aromatic and moisturising bath tea bag.

And whether you choose to grow herbs and flowers, or only have access to weeds, it's all useful stuff. Lavender is one of the classic skin care components, with its relaxing aroma and healing oils. But nettles are also great in skin care, for instance as an anti-dandruff rinse!

And on the topic of hair, just like our skin, our hair needs care and attention too. We can also make natural hair care at home with ingredients from our kitchen or garden.
